The Behra JagirA genealogy of the Sardars of Fatehabad
Generation VIII

Şehzade Bibiji … Sahiba

Şehzade ਬੀਬੀ ਜੀ … ਸਾਹਿਬਾ

Daughter of Nawab Bhag Singh of Kapurthala

The Kapurthala princess through whom this family carries its royal blood. She married General Sardar Rattan Singh of Behra — head of a jagir of forty-three villages seated at Fatehabad, the old Ahluwalia capital on the Beas, where Jassa Singh had built his fort and where Fateh Singh and Ranjit Singh had sworn their alliance ten years before. Griffin’s chart of 1870 marks the match in five words: “Daughter m. Rattan Singh Behra.” Every generation of the Behra line after her descends from Nawab Bhag Singh, and before him from the whole stem back to Sadho Singh of Ahlu.

Unrecorded
Her personal name is preserved neither in the published compilations nor in the family records. Recovering it would be the single most valuable addition to this genealogy.
